Moving

Our army friends returned from their vacation and resumed care of Sandy and Lulu, the guinea pigs. We will miss their excited squeaks whenever they hear the food bags opening!

Now we have moved about 2 miles away from their home to a quiet German neighborhood in the outskirts of Garmisch. We will housesit at 54 Reissackerstrasse (Reissacker St.) for the remaining 2 1/2 weeks of our time in Germany. Sadly, the days will undoubtedly race by.

The building has six apartments; this one is a 2-bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, complete with traditional window boxes filled with flowers and a lovely back yard.  
 

The apartment is beautifully decorated--upstairs and down.  We do bump into each other in the narrow kitchen....

however, we forget about that minor inconvenience as we enjoy morning coffee on the balcony or relax in the living room.

 From the balcony and bedroom we have beautiful views of the mountains and can see Kramerspitze (6,500 feet), our next big climb.

There is also a little office for studying, writing, blogging, emailing, chatting, and Skyping on our resting days between climbs.

We are now just minutes away from Garmisch so we can easily hit the grocery stores or do other shopping--such as for Trachten, traditional Bavarian dress.
